Required Summer Reading
Myers Park High School English Department has designated summer reading titles for the 2019-2020 school year. It is the student's responsibility to obtain a copy of the assigned text. This work can be accessed through the public library or through a local book store which have been notified of these selections. If there are financial constraints that inhibit the purchase of a text, please contact the English Department Chair to discuss options for purchase: Kristen.firstname.lastname@example.org. Accountability for the reading will take place during the academic year in conjunction with individual teacher syllabi. The reading list can also be accessed through the MPHS website. Please note that some classes have additional directions posted on teachers’ websites.
The following is recommended summer reading, but will be discussed and assessed in the opening weeks of the semester.

MPHS Spirit Wear
If you have a future MPHS student, spirit wear is available from the student store which is open every Wednesday until Memorial Day. We have t-shirts, sweatshirts, car magnets, and more! We are located in the cafeteria and open during all lunches, from 10:30am - 12:30pm. We accept credit/debit and cash, no checks.
Myers Park IB Program
Attention parents of rising Myers Park freshmen interested in the International Baccalaureate program! You are invited to join current IB parents and members of the IB parent board for an informal gathering at the MPHS Art Gallery on Thursday, May 9th from 5pm - 7pm. This will be a great opportunity to talk with others about their experiences with the Myers Park IB program. we hope to see you there!
